After the success of our first traditional cable airbag, Horse Pilot once again wanted to innovate. We set ourselves the challenge of creating a fully electronic airbag to offer more complete protection. After 8 years of research and development with In&Motion, a company specialising in individual fall detection and protection, the E-Twist'Air airbag was born.

The E-Twist'Air airbag is a revolution in safety! The first autonomous, cable-free airbag in the equestrian world, it is leash-free, preventing accidental triggering. It is the only airbag to protect against falls with the horse and has a faster release speed than traditional cable airbags. It also distributes forces more evenly with a front release mechanism, offering enhanced safety.

In a sport as risky as horseback riding, the E-Twist'Air Airbag is a true rider safety revolution. Unlike traditional cable airbags, the E-Twist'Air airbag covers all fall scenarios using its advanced detection algorithm: falls from a horse, falls from a mount and falls with a horse, which are among the most dangerous in horseback riding.

The waistcoat protects the rider's vital areas: chest, abdomen, neck and back. In&Motion's biomechanics researchers have shown that a back support increases the effectiveness of protection. That's why the Airbag E-Twist'Air incorporates a level 2 (R-Zro) certified back support to further enhance protection. The back support spreads the impact over a larger surface area, reducing the effects of direct impact and guaranteeing optimum safety.

The result of several years' research and testing, the E-Twist'Air airbag is a technological innovation. It is fully autonomous with sensors and an advanced detection algorithm capable of recognising a fall in less than 30 milliseconds.

All this technology is contained in a small box, the In&box, on the back of the waistcoat. The box is equipped with an on-board 6-axis sensor (acceleration and rotation) that continuously analyses the position of the rider, taking up to 1,000 measurements per second to anticipate falls.
